Winner of the Masport Cup 1948–1958 (except for one year). Winner of the Griffith Cup for the Australasian Championship 1949–1959. Exhibited as lifted out of the water at Picton after throwing a propellor blade when travelling at approximately 100 mph (180 km/h). The mishap was caused by metal fatigue, not by hitting an object in the water.

Redhead Exhausts

"The exhausts are the only visible evidence of the powerful Alison V1710 V12 engine that is installed beneath the aluminium panels we can see here."

Redhead instruments and controls

"To me, another interesting feature of  “Redhead” is the instrument panel which appears to be made up entirely of WW2 era instruments and switches.

I am however unsure of the instrument type at the top left of the panel.

The engine was controlled by an aircraft style throttle quadrant that can be seen on the left had side adjacent to the steering wheel."
