Description:

Subaru is known for its use of the boxer engine layout in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc as well as its use of the Symmetrical All Wheel Drive drive-train layout since 1972. The flat/boxer engine and all-wheel-drive became standard equipment for their mid-size and smaller cars in most international markets by 1996.

The Impreza line up started in 1993, when Subaru decided they needed a saloon car, to compete in the small car market.

This car was built specifically for Ken Block (one of the co-founders of DC Shoes) to use in New Zealand during the 2007 winter rally season. Ken Block is a three-time X Games medallist and famous for his Subaru-powered series of ‘Gymkhana' videos on U-Tube.

It is a genuine Subaru Impreza STI C-Spec RA which features factory lightweight items such as thinner door glass and aluminium boot/trunk lid.

Block partnered by Italian co-driver Gelsomino Alessandro competed in the Rally of Otago and the Rally of Whangarei in this car in 2007 registering 2 DNF’s. After his rally commitments were over the fun continued in New Zealand at a snowboarding park called Snow Park.  There, he joined the DC Shoes snowboard team for a Ski park session consisting of Subaru-assisted jibbing, toe-ats, and uphill 540s. After getting their fill of that, the team and Ken started hitting Jumps side by side. During a side by side jump Ken hit the ramp too fast, over-shooting the landing ramp and landing very hard, cracking his L2 vertebrae and nearly destroying the car during the final day.
